I have a profile on IBPA!

My profile just got added to the member site on the Independent Book Publishers Association website, ya!

Here's what it says:

Why did you become a book publisher?
After I'd written my first novel, Stuck, I started to explore the different publishing options available to me. After weighing the pros and cons, I decided to self-publish. Then from there it was a natural progression to start an indie publishing company to support my work.
What do you like best about publishing?
I love having control over the decision making and promoting something I believe in...but it's a lot of work!
What do you publish?
Fiction.
What is the most effective form of marketing for your press?
Social media, great cover art, and modest pricing.
How do you define a successful title?
Positive reviews and a growing fan base.
Tell us about one of your titles about which you are especially proud.
I'm brand new to the publishing business so I can only brag about one book. Stuck is a novel very near and dear to my heart because it took me 8 years to write and also gave me the kick in the pants I needed to quit my day job and become a full-time writer/publisher.
What has been your biggest challenge in achieving success?
Time management: balancing the need to advance my writing vs marketing the hell out of my book(s).
What advice do you have for newcomers to book publishing?
Get a mentor!
How will you and your company be positioned in five years?
I'd like Mirror Image Publishing to have several books under it's wings with a few more staff and writers on the roster.
When you're not fully immersed in publishing, what do you do for fun?
Swimming, cycling, reading, playing piano, travel.
